Hello Friend!
Coming back from the summer camp into my regular rhythm felt like stepping between two very different worlds. Camp has its own pace: mornings under the sky, constant conversations, moments of laughter mixed with challenges. Returning home, things slow down but also become structured again. This week carried that in-between feeling—part fatigue, part renewed energy. It was slower in some ways, but also filled with moments that pushed me to think, act, and reflect more deeply.
Here’s a glimpse of what this week brought across Endeavour, the podcast, Scouts, and my personal journey.
🚀 Endeavour: Back Into Flow
At Endeavour, this week was busy in a different way. After the summer camp, it was harder than usual to get back into work mode, but once I got moving, I felt reenergised. One of the highlights was delivering a workshop on Core Leadership with a group of department heads. These spaces are always special — not because I’m there to “teach leadership,” but because they remind me how leadership is lived differently by everyone in the room.
It was powerful to see leaders reflect on their own styles, their blind spots, and the impact their words (or silence) have on others. What struck me most was the willingness of participants to be vulnerable, to share their challenges, and to look at leadership not just as a role, but as a responsibility.
The week also included coaching — every single day. I worked with both long-standing and new clients, and the feedback I received was humbling. Coaching isn’t about giving answers — it’s about holding space for questions that matter. When a client leaves a session with more clarity or courage than they had when they walked in, that’s where the magic happens.
Finally, I had a brainstorming session with some of my team members about the next phase of a project. These conversations, though often behind the scenes, are where a lot of the work really happens. It was one of those meetings where ideas bounced off one another, and I left reminded that Endeavour isn’t just about me — it’s about the collective strength of people coming together to solve problems creatively.
🎙️ GROWTH Schema: Burnout, Hustle & the Mexican Fisherman
The podcast also had its moment this week with the release of Episode 69: “Burnout & the Mexican Fisherman: Rethinking the Hustle” with Kasim Aslam. Kasim’s story resonated deeply with me — someone who scaled big, burned out fast, and then stopped to ask what really matters.
We talked about the myth of “doing it all,” and how saying yes too often is one of the fastest ways to burn yourself out. Kasim’s perspective on delegating with intention hit home — it’s not just about handing off tasks, it’s about building businesses that don’t rely on your constant presence. And of course, we explored the famous Mexican Fisherman story, which for me is less about rejecting ambition and more about reframing growth: it’s not just about more, it’s about enough.
This episode made me reflect on my own pace, especially during a period of recovery. It’s so easy to confuse visibility with influence, or busyness with impact. But real growth — whether in business or in life — often comes from slowing down, stripping things back, and asking better questions.
On the practical side, the studio is still a work in progress. This week I found myself thinking about how to make better use of the new space. I’ll be working on small updates next week to make it more functional. I also started working on a series of podcast collaborations with FHRD, which I’m genuinely excited about. Collaborations like these remind me that podcasts aren’t just about the conversation — they’re about the community they create.
⛺ Scouts: Alignment, Strategy & The “What Ifs”
Scouts also had its share of reflection this week. After camp, I wanted to keep the momentum alive. I had several conversations with my team to make sure we remain aligned in terms of vision and direction. These aren’t flashy conversations, but they are important — they’re the glue that keeps people moving in the same direction.
I also spent time working behind the scenes on a strategy for scouting. It may never come to life, but I’ve learned that the act of preparation is valuable in itself. Designing “what if” scenarios — imagining how things might look, feel, or work if certain opportunities materialise — sharpens my leadership and helps me stay ready.
Scouting has always been a parallel to Endeavour for me. Both are about developing people, creating safe spaces, and empowering others to step into leadership. This week was another reminder that growth isn’t always about stepping forward — sometimes it’s about stepping back, creating the space, and preparing for possibilities.
🩺 Personal: Recovery, Energy & Small Wins
On the personal front, this week was steadier. My leg wasn’t as swollen after camp, and my hamstring has been slowly healing. I’m still cautious, but I can feel progress. This week was all about laying the foundations for running again — small, consistent exercises, physio sessions, and pushing myself without overdoing it.
I also started adding workouts back into my routine. They made me feel tired, but in a good way — the kind of fatigue that tells you you’re moving in the right direction. Recovery has a rhythm: some days you feel unstoppable, other days you feel like you’re back to square one. I had both this week.
What’s helping me is focusing on small wins. Being able to walk with less swelling, introducing new exercises, or even having a physiotherapist commend my effort — these moments matter. They’re reminders that progress doesn’t always announce itself loudly; sometimes it’s quiet, steady, and only noticeable when you look back.
On Sunday, I spent time at the beach with friends. I still can’t swim, but just being there — feeling the breeze, being surrounded by laughter, and not thinking about work or recovery for a while — felt like medicine.
✨ Closing Thoughts
This week felt like a blend of contrasts: workshops full of energy, a podcast episode that made me slow down and reflect, scouting conversations about the future, and the very real, human grind of recovery.
If there’s one lesson I’m holding onto, it’s this: growth often hides in the small, consistent steps. Whether it’s a coaching client having an “aha moment,” a podcast listener reframing hustle, or me managing to take one more step without pain — it all counts.
